Chapter 7 – What Fieldnote Became
Two years after the board meeting that reinstated her, Ivy had rebuilt her position at Fieldnote into something considerably stronger than what she’d held before the betrayal — protected legally, respected institutionally, and no longer dependent on the goodwill of a friendship that had proven, when tested, unreliable.

Sophia eventually stepped down as CEO, two and a half years after the incident, moving into a smaller advisory role at a different company entirely, the trajectory of her career permanently altered by a decision she’d made in a single afternoon of panic.
Ivy took over as CEO in the transition that followed, running the company she’d cofounded now fully, finally, on terms that were entirely, legally, hers.
